Yes, it’s that time of the year again ladies.
This newsletter contains all the details for
the 2014 C.W.F. CONVENTION.
The
chosen theme is
‘UNCONDITIONAL LOVE’.
The key speakers will
be Paul Blakey M.B.E. and his wife, Jean, founders of Street Angels.
The dates: 21st – 23rd February
2014.
The
place: The Hayes, Swanwick, Derbyshire
The cost: £135 for an en-suite
room (These will all be in Lakeside this year) £110 for a standard room
(These will all be in the Main House)
A £50 deposit must be sent with each booking to secure a
room.
Please
don’t stay away because of the cost. We
now have a Bursary Fund, which is completely confidential, but applications
must be made by 30th November this year. Just contact cwf1927@yahoo.com
We are pleased to tell you
that the walkway to the Chapel at the Hayes is now complete. Gillian’s tree has
been replanted, along with the plaque, in the Prayer Labyrinth in front of the
Chapel. The original position has been
covered by the new walkway. This photo was taken in July when Joy and Linda
visited the Hayes to view the alterations – oh yes, and to have a complementary
cream tea!
A Shawl Ministry - a simple and effective way to show people you
care for them, and to remind them of the love and support that surrounds them,
even when they are alone. Shawls can be
knitted, crocheted or woven, and given to anyone who has been going through or
is facing a hard time, through illness, bereavement, or other difficult
circumstances. They can also be given at times of change (e.g.to someone
leaving for a new job,) and of joy—a wedding, birth of a baby, graduation, etc.
CWF convention's theme for this coming year is
'Unconditional Love'. We thought it
would be a nice idea if those who can, could make a shawl to bring to
conference. They then could be blessed and given to people to show God's love
for them.

One
of the comments on last year’s evaluation slips was regarding the fact that some
of the Committee seem to work too hard and not get the benefit of the
Convention. At the Planning Meeting for
the 2014 Convention we talked about this and came to the decision that at the
next Business meeting a new Committee position be proposed – that of Minute
Secretary. The job would entail taking
the minutes at the Convention Business Meeting and at the Planning Meeting.
Also, the putting up of notices in the conference hall. If you are interested and would like more
information please contact cwf1927@yahoo.com
We are pleased to say that one C.W.F. member has volunteered
to take over as Programme Secretary. This will be put to the vote at the next
Business Meeting.
Positions are always coming up on the Committee. Not only do you serve your sisters this way,
you also make new friends. So, if a position
comes up that you think you could do, please don’t be afraid to volunteer.
Now it is over to you.
We hope to see you at Convention 2014.
If you have any questions please don’t be afraid to ask.
God bless and we hope to see you soon.
